Sometimes it can be so frustrating when students whip through drawing, giving little detail and not looking and studying their subject. Here's my attempt to slow them down a little, get them really looking and studying texture, value, shape and form. 3 worksheets and then 4 enlarged images for them to work through. You can also have them create on regular, larger paper. I always include the skeleton as in this pack because the skeleton is what gives the chicken it's form and shape. This lesson is packed with drawing, form, shape, texture, value, color and detail. I use it as a precursor to doing a chicken in paint, oil pastel, chalk, etc. and every time it lends itself to better roosters and chickens, especially when you can't bring a real live one in the classroom (LOL!)
