The Nutcracker Ballet — This resource includes everything you need to make a 8.5x11 or 11x17 Nutcracker winter holiday scene. Starts with a fact sheet and brief story line of the Nutcracker ballet. 3 pages of images for print or digital display included. After the kids have a good feel for what the Nutcracker is, especially if they haven't seen it, we can get to work! Included are 2 sets of different sized template patterns for the characters. This project can have many variables and is very adaptable to whatever you want to do. Students can cut out the characters and place on the provided page or you can do your own background (I recommend this, it looks much nicer—while the characters can be difficult to draw you can get the balance of an art project with them creating the background in paint or paint with paper collage, etc.). Any can be reduced or enlarged if you prefer a different size. Beautiful Christmas project that stays on my own bulletin board through January with the nice wintery and snowy backgrounds.
